The Multicultural Schools Alliance is spearheaded by University of Tartu Centre for Ethics and aims to empower Russian-medium schools in Estonia through developing co-operation among them and equipping the school management and teachers with the skills needed to analyse the school’s values, abilities and competencies.
There are currently six schools in the alliance: Sakala Eragümnaasium, Tallinna Humanitaargümnaasium, Tallinna Läänemere Gümnaasium, Pärnu Tammsaare Kool, Tartu Aleksander Puškini Kool and Valga Priimetsa Kool. Each school is assigned a critical friend, who will help steer the process of identifying areas that need improvement and finding solutions and enhancing values, eventually transforming them into schools that have the children’s and the wider community’s interests at heart.
